My short answer to this would be "No!" As to saving the economy, I see this as essentially a short-term solution. Capitalism, with its need for "growth" is not sustainable in a world with finite resources, yet it seems that capitalism itself and the issues surrounding it such as social inequality and our "earth as a box of resources" worldview as well as the "necessity" for a state and the environmental consequences of our consumption are not seriously challenged. Kropotkin wrote about this nearly a century ago in his work "The conquest of bread" and yet it is not in the mainstream paradigm even now.
