I find there are two main grades of insulating board. The crumbly flimsy white EPS stuff, and the less crumbly flimsy.
But also some fine-textured blue-green turquoise stuff that is strong-enuf for airplane wings with a little judiciously placed metal. It is very cuttable, and I hold it on with wood battons screwed into the wall
- sometimes (much) easier said than done ! Also a surface of good old hardboard in places where it might get kicked or knocked, because good as it is, the foam dents, and cats love it !
