Research is under way: the safety aspects of green versus carbon-emitting energy

Workers in the green energy sector are less at risk from accidents than those working in fossil fuel extraction, according to research being undertaken in the USA and reported by the New Scientist last week. It's probably quite obvious that mine or oil rig workers are exposed to greater long-term health risks than a solar panel installer: but it's still good to know that solar energy has the potential to maintain a safe working environment for all involved as well as reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. At the forefront of solar thermal research and development is SolarUK (), the leading designer, manufacturer, supplier and installer of solar hot water systems.
