Electric heating for homes with solar PV
If you have a solar PV installation why not utilise some of that free electricity to warm the room you sit in most during the day. Infrared heating panels fit neatly on the ceiling or wall and use a small amount of electricity to gently warm the room, for example a 600 watt heating panel will warm a room of about 12 square metres. You can fit the heater to a room thermostat so it will turn itself off to avoid wasting electricity on warmer days or when the main central heating comes on.
