ECO Friendly Direct - ECO Friendly Direct

Fridges don't need to be kept cooler than 3 degrees. Below this they are wasting energy and your money! Put a thermometer in your fridge so you can keep an eye on temperature
Keep coils dust free - Get your feather duster out! When dust gathers on the condenser coils at the back of your fridge energy consumption can increase by 30%
Buy a fridge saver plug - You can save 20% of your fridges running costs. When the appliance's motor is first switched on, full system power is needed, but not once it's running. The plug can sense this and cuts power to the motor in short bursts without changing the operation of the fridge.
Fridges work most efficiently if they are free standing and in a cool environment so don't site it next to the cooker, boiler or a radiator. Don't leave the fridge door open for longer than necessary and avoid putting hot or warm food into the fridge and remember to defrost regularly to keep it running efficiently and cheaply
