Introducing GREG, the Global Renewable Energy Grid. While controlling devices is helpful and great for nerds (like myself I might add) the serious problems and vision seem to be missing even after Copenhagen.
So I'd like to throw my hat in for GREG.
Planning for RE growth and exporting excess energy across international High Voltage DC links [HVDC] (I think) is a fantastic ecosystem worth creating. Global HVDC is probably 15 to 20 years away and that's Ok. We can start combining smart grid energy savings and RE growth into Co2 reductions and porting excess energy into exports and FOREX revenue from a global baseline power grid. And just in time too I might add.
Starting today, are you up to the challenge ? Let me know ;-)
