Wind Energy Update

Industry first O&M strategies revealed to North America's wind industry

In little over a month, the first-ever Wind Energy Summit with an exclusive focus on upgrades, retrofit and repower technology will take place in Texas, the principal state for operational wind facilities and service specialists.

More than 300 senior level wind industry executives – already comprised of 50 operators, 50 OEMs, and 100 ISPs & other O&M specialists – have begun to engage with one another in preparation for their arrival at Dallas’ Marriott City Center Hotel for the 4th Annual Wind Energy Operations and Maintenance Summit (April 25–27, 2012).

Delegates are geared up to gain exclusive insight into the very latest industry end of warranty experience, proven technology and O&M strategies which will maximize generation and reduce costs in wind farms they are associated with globally. Topics to be covered include the very latest end of warranty options, major part failure, upgrading, retrofit and repowering technology, advanced monitoring technologies, life extension of critical components, and grid integration, operation and compliance.

With the uncertainty that surrounds the extension of the production tax credit, North American utilities and independent power producers will have pay particular attention to their wind farm aftercare strategies in an effort to lower operational expenditure and ultimately drive profitability from the assets already in operation. In response to this shift in the industry, manufacturers and other O&M specialists have started to offer extremely valuable technologies and competitive packages for wind farm aftercare that could help significantly increase an operator's return on investment (ROI). The question on the end of every asset owner's tongue is what works, and where to find it.

"Wind Energy Update is proud to be the primary source of exclusive, industry demanded information surrounding post warranty life" says Jon Harman, the head of renewable industries from Wind Energy Update. "As an organization, we understand how to drive both a company's growth and profits, and we will strive to provide the audience with the targeted material and individuals that they need to achieve them".

E.ON Climate & Renewables, NRG Energy, AES Wind Generation, Iberdrola Renewables, Duke Energy, EDP Renewables, Infigen Energy, Edison Mission, TransAlta, Wind Capital Group, Puget Sound Energy, and enXco are just a few of the North American wind industry companies who will meet this April in Dallas to discuss, debate and appraise the latest O&M strategies to reduce costs, optimize efficiency, and improve overall ROI.
