One of the world’s most admired businesses, John Deere has teamed up with Vickers Energy Group, to reduce their Oil consumption by in excess of £8,600 and reduced their Carbon emissions by 379 tonnes, at their Nottingham site by installing Vickers’ energy management system.
In 2003, John Deere pledged to reduce their carbon emissions by 25% per dollar of revenue by 2014. The energy management system was installed in 2013 to control 2x Dravo Air Handling Units and in its inaugural year reduced their consumption by 34%.
David Hilton from Vickers Energy Group said: “We are really pleased with John Deere’s results which are a testament to the success of our energy management system and look forward to working with John Deere again in the future. Their commitment to carbon reduction is commendable.”
John Curzon, Facilities Manager, John Deere said “Vickers Energy delivered above and beyond our expectations, originally guaranteeing a 20% reduction in our oil consumptions with a return on investment in 11 months, in fact, within our first 12 months of installation we reduced our oil consumption by an additional 14% and our return on investment was reduced to just 6months. Furthermore solely from the installation, we’ve reduced our carbon emissions by 379 tonnes.”
