The Solar Company: Powering Your Home, Naturally.
The Solar Company specialise in the design, installation and commissioning of solar photovoltaic systems. We take great care to design a system for your property that will provide the greatest return on investment. We always carry out a detailed survey including the identification of any potential sources of shading, we then work with you to design a Solar PV system that you will be delighted with. Great care is taken to ensure that the installation is performed to the highest standard, with minimum disruption. We do not use Salesmen as we understand that nobody likes to be ‘sold to’. Instead we share our knowledge and experience with our clients and let them make an informed decision.

Materials
Although we can supply any type of Solar panel available, we never recommend purchasing cheap, poor quality panels. Solar panels are by far the most expensive part of the system and the most difficult to replace in the event of a problem. There are plenty of panels available on the market from well established names such as Bosch and Sanyo. The quality of the materials used to make these panels is far superior and you can expect many years of trouble free service.
The pitched roof mounting system we use is manufactured by Hilti. High quality Stainless Steel screws are used to fix the mounting system to your roof.

Structural Engineer Report
For your peace of mind and in accordance with the requirements of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, we always engage an independent Structural Engineer to assess the suitability of your property before commencing an installation. The costs for a structural report are included in our prices. Where additional strengthening work is specified, we can usually arrange this for a relatively low cost.

Installation
Our installations are carried out with the attention and care you would expect, we always allow three days for each installation to give us the time we need to do the job properly. Our business is based on reputation and we want you to be delighted with the results. Our customer feedback is always excellent and we intend to keep it this way.

About the Feed In Tariff (FiT)
The FiT scheme guarantees a regular payment for all electricity generated by your renewable energy system. You earn a fixed income for every unit of electricity your system generates, even if you use it yourself. A higher tariff is paid for all electricity fed back into the grid.
This is in addition to the savings made from purchasing less electricity from your supplier.
In the case of PV solar this payment is guaranteed for 25 years by the government and is tax free.

How is the electricity measured?
Electricity is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh). A unit of electricity is one kWh.
To put this into perspective, an electric appliance rated at 1000 Watts (1 kW) would consume one kWh if left on for an hour. A 2kW solar PV system operating at full capacity would run two of these appliances at no cost, and you are still paid for the electricity produced.
