Wastewater revolution for third world

Wastewater revolution for third world
A revolutionary wastewater system just on the market could be used by rural communities in third world countries.

EKO GEO claimed that the wastewater plant, which uses anaerobic digestion (AD), can be run without power in places that do not have mains sewerage systems.

The plant leaves a small carbon footprint, making it ideal for both residential and commercial use.

It is likely that such plants will become increasingly used in poorer parts of the world, after the United Nations Development Programme identified AD systems as environmentally friendly and economically manageable.

AD produces a biogas rich in methane and carbon dioxide that can be converted to fossil fuels with additional investment.

Water treated by the plant can be used as fertiliser to replace environmentally damaging chemical processes.

Furthermore, the construction and maintenances costs are far lower than with conventional water systems.
