Study says Kent and Devon have most green homes for sale
Kent and Devon are the two most popular regions in the UK to find green homes, a new study has indicated.
HomeMove reported that recent research carried out by Globrix found that of the 777 homes for sale in the UK with at least one eco-friendly feature, 53 are listed in Kent and 52 are listed in Devon.
Meanwhile, Scotland had the fewest number of green homes up for grabs, while properties with low carbon features were also in short supply in the midlands and the north of England.
Green criteria used to evaluate the eco-friendliness of a home included features such as solar heating, rainwater harvesting, sustainable building materials - such as timber - and wind turbines, as well as whether it had low carbon emissions.
In related news, television presenter Oliver Heath showed off his environmentally-friendly home in the Sunday Times at the weekend.
He suggested that eco-friendly lifestyle changes do not have to be expensive and added that using an outdoor washing line to dry clothes in the summer months may be more cost-effective than using a tumble dryer.
