Stars call for climate change action

Stars call for climate change action
Scotland's celebrities are joining forces to call on people from across the country to join the nation's biggest-ever climate change demonstration tomorrow (December 5th).

With only a matter of days until world leaders meet in Copenhagen to decide on which actions to take in order to tackle the issue, the likes of Stuart Murdoch, Daniela Nardini, Atta Yakub and Helena Christensen are urging Scots to take part in The Wave.

The family-friendly event, which is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, will see people marching through the streets of Glasgow to demand that a fair deal is reached at the UN negotiations.

BAFTA award-winner Nardini said: "I urge Scots to join The Wave in Glasgow and tell world leaders at Copenhagen to share Scotland's ambition on climate and act now to tackle one of the most pressing issues of our time, before it's too late."

She added: "Climate change is affecting poor people first and worst, those who are least responsible for the emissions causing climate change and who have the least resources to cope. It's taking their crops, water, homes and jobs, things already in short supply in poor countries."
