Renewable energy to be basis of new eco products

Renewable energy to be basis of new eco products
Renewable energy will form the basis for new eco products, one expert has predicted.

Nigel Berman, managing director of Nigel's Eco Store - an online retailer of environmentally-friendly products - spoke of items that are likely to be the next big thing in environmental consumerism.

Devices such as solar powered iPods, mobile phones and eventually cars, which could also be fuelled by water, were among the products suggested by Mr Berman.

"We will also see many more biodegradable products - my favourite that's out currently is biodegradable flip-flops that can be composted at the end of their life," he commented.

One of the products that has recently been espoused by Nigel's Eco Store is the I'm Not a Paper Cup item. The ceramic thermal mug is a reusable alternative to paper cups used for takeaway coffees.

According to the store's website, the mugs help to reduce people's carbon footprint.
