Renewable energy experts to gather for UK conference

Renewable energy experts to gather for UK conference
All-Energy '09, the UK's largest renewable energy conference, will be taking place in the Scottish city of Aberdeen this month.

On May 20th and 21st, leading experts and low-carbon companies from 13 countries will gather at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

More than 4,500 people are expected to attend the event, which will see a number of speakers take to the stage to discuss issues relating to the increased usage of renewables.

The event will begin with a debate involving UK government climate change secretary Ed Miliband and Jim Mather, the Scottish Parliament's minister for enterprise, energy and tourism.

Among the keynote speakers will be Adam Bruce, chairman of the British Wind Energy Association; Keith MacLean, head of policy at Scottish; and Southern Energy and the University of Aberdeen's Professor Paul Mitchell.

Judith Patten, project director at the show's organiser Media Generation Events, said: "The range of free-to-attend sessions is wide and provides an ideal method of updating visitors and exhibitors on all that is going on in the rapidly moving renewable energy industry."

People planning to attend have been encouraged to sign up to a carbon offsetting scheme that will cover any emissions created by their journeys to Aberdeen.

All-Energy's organisers have already offset the estimated carbon dioxide output of the show itself.
