Crown Estate offers new wind sites

Crown Estate offers new wind sites
Wind power could quadruple following the offering for lease of nine new dedicated development zones for offshore wind farms.

The Crown Estate, which owns the seabed, has announced a third round of bidding for permission to build wind farms that could generate up to 25 gigawatts (GW) of electricity.

With the completion date set as 2020, when the UK will have to meet its share of the EU's emissions reduction target of 20 per cent, the new wind farms will boost the UK's wind power from 8GW to 33GW.

Business secretary John Hutton said: "The launch of The Crown Estate bidding competition is a huge opportunity for investors and developers to play a part in the renewables revolution sweeping the UK. Offshore wind could dramatically increase the amount of electricity generated in this country from clean, green sources."

The Crown Estate has also purchased the world's biggest wind turbine. Rising 100 metres above the sea, the turbine, which is to be installed off the north-east coast of England, is to generate 7.5 megawatts of power.

then you should look up the proposed energy development from water, by Plasenergy Development Industries in Australia, no one seems interested but those who do get on board an invest in the project now should turn a tidy profit once up and running.check LinkedIn for a Plasma Energy Conversion Unit.
