New eco-friendly home unveiled

New eco-friendly home unveiled
One of the most energy efficient houses in the UK has been put on to the market.

Barnsley Hill Farm, which is run using almost 100 per cent carbon neutral energy, is available for £3.5 million.

The home includes features such as a spa, a 25-seat cinema, and indoor swimming pool and steam room, yet remains friendly to the environment.

This is due to the use of low carbon materials, low carbon lighting and other green technologies.

There are 20 solar panels in a solar park in the garden, which are used to fuel the swimming pool and living area if necessary.

In addition, the property features a recycling scheme for transferring rainwater to toilets, taps and washing machines.

Making the home completely air-tight is another novel feature designed to control its temperature.

The house, which is being tagged the most environmentally sound in Britain, can be visited on September 26th and 27th.
