Motorists 'can reduce carbon emissions'
Tesco Personal Finance has suggested a number of ways in which motorists can reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, including attempting to cut down on their annual mileage, the firm has suggested.

In addition, it was noted that car owners may wish to have their vehicles serviced regularly, limit the time they spend idling and to regularly check their tyre pressure to both cut their carbon footprint and reduce their car insurance premiums.

The price comparison group also claimed it was disappointed in today's budget announcement, as it had hoped the new plans would include reducing the cost barriers associated with insuring a lower-carbon hybrid car, such as a Toyota Prius.

Among the car insurance firms currently offering a carbon offsetting scheme include CIS and iBuyeco, Tesco Personal Finance claimed.

Despite disappointment about lack of changes to the green insurance scheme, other budget measures - such as the announcement of extra funding to provide loans to people seeking to make low carbon home improvements - were met with approval this afternoon.ADNFCR-1235-ID-18507098-ADNFCR
