Energetix teams up with E.On

Energetix teams up with E.On
Cheshire-based Energetix has signed a deal with energy giant E.On to develop its micro-combined heat and power (CHP) device for European markets.

The pair has already worked together on developing the technology for UK homes.

According to Energetix, its micro-CHP, Genlec, could save households £200 and cut their annual emissions by 1.5 tonnes.

The device generates both heat and electricity for the home in a process which is more efficient than traditional power plants.

Adrian Hutchings, chief executive officer of Energetix, claimed that the micro-HCP could "revolutionise the way we heat and power our homes".

He added: "With increasing demand for energy-saving and awareness of microgeneration, we look forward to continuing to push Genlec and our broader portfolio of products onto market."

British Gas has partnered with micro-CHP maker Baxi to distribute its domestic devices.
