Eco homes a good investment

Eco homes a good investment
An expert has said that good wall insulation and energy efficient boilers, or anything that contributes to low carbon emissions, will assist in a home's value.

Julian Brooks, managing director of GreenMoves, said: "Awareness is an issue but will slowly come, as the CO2 issue is gaining a great deal of momentum, aided and abetted by the cost of fuel. Green homes cost less to run, of course, so they make good economic sense.

"Green homes are a good investment without a doubt and will pay dividends over time as they are likely to hold their value more."

A report earlier this year by the Communities and Local Government committee found that the average existing home in the UK emitted 1.6 tonnes of carbon a year, where as newly build energy efficient houses emitted only 0.86 tonnes.
