Space Air moves forward with green steps
Despite the challenging business conditions of the past few years, Space Air has remained committed to taking all reasonable steps to reduce the environmental impact of its activities and to save costs.
We proudly hold the ISO 14001 certificate, which shows Space Air has an effective Environmental Management System in place, so effective that the ISO auditor stated ‘This is still one of the best environmental systems I have audited.”
Part of our Environmental Management System is to recycle paper. In 2011 we saved 56 trees from destruction. We also use recycled paper in at least 80% of our literature and is FSC certified. In our warehouse the cardboard packaging is responsibly recycled and re-used where possible.
Our headquarters have been updated to become more environmentally friendly using low consumption light bulbs, energy saving mac computers, recycling points for paper, plastics, batteries, metals plus of course the latest in energy efficient Daikin VRVQ Heat Pump, Air Conditioning.
The Daikin product range is manufactured and sold throughout the world. Daikin industries have for the past 50 years (supported by Space Air since 1980) continually improved the energy efficiency of their products. Thus reducing their environmental impact.
Many of our company vehicles are now hybrid or energy efficient which emit less pollution. Our delivery fleet has built in tracking systems, which increases efficiency of on-time deliveries and on average saves over 20% in fuel costs and CO2 emissions.
We are registered under the Environment Agency Control of Pollution Act 1989 and ensure the responsible disposal / recycling of waste.
Space Air participates in the activities to help reduce it’s environmental foot print while working with Daikin Europe, we are committed to improving efficiency and reducing energy costs.
