RHPP phase three: another opportunity to apply for the social landlord competition!
The Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme, has re-opened the Social Landlord Competition, Phase Three, with funding of up to £2.5 million available.
The RHPP is a short-term government scheme, managed by the Energy Saving Trust and available for householders and social housing. This a grant in the form of one-off payments to help offset any premium between the cost of a heat pump (and other renewable technologies) and other non-renewable or fossil fuel based forms of domestic heating. Social housing have the chance to bid for money to support the installation of renewable heating systems.
72 projects were awarded money under the phase two competition, which ran from 28th May to the 4th July 2012. The total value of the combined applicants received was just over £5 million, only half of the £10 million that was set aside.
Due to the under spending of the Social Landlord Competition, a third phase has been launched, which will be used for two further competitions with access to funding of £2.5 million each.
Phase Three is the re-opening of the Social Landlord Competition with additional improvements, these being lengthening the application window to nine weeks, relaxing the requirement to provide energy bill information until the delivery phase and to help support the bid application process for busy landlords.
