Sustainable development

The way we plan, manage, construct and occupy our built environment has a significant impact on the environment and community wellbeing. Addressing sustainability issues helps to ensure that we construct buildings that are as fit for purpose for future generations as much as they are for today's. It also ensures that the environmental impacts of both the construction process and occupied buildings have been identified and mitigated. Sustainability is increasingly being driven through legislation and policy guidance which requires developers, local authorities and development agencies to consider the overall sustainability of the design and future use of projects.

SKM Enviros understands the commercial nature of the development arena and is well placed to assist local authorities, developers and development agencies to improve the sustainability of the built environment. SKM Enviros has worked with a number these clients to help integrate sustainability into the design, construction and management of buildings while keeping the commercial aims of the project in mind.
