7 European countries sustain solar energy
Romania can announce this year a growing number of investors in solar energy and also an increased number of licenses required for the installation of solar parks. In 2012 the number of investors who have applied for licenses has already reached 300, compared to last year when the number was 50. The government approved a law that offers for investors in solar energy 6 green certificates for each MWh installed until the 1st of January 2014 and not only until 1st of January 2013, as it was first established. To support the development of the renewable energy market in Romania, REECO will organize the 5th edition of the biggest energy trade fair of Romania: RENEXPO® South-East Europe, between 21st and 23rd of November, at the Palace Hall in Bucharest.
Photovoltaic energy sector in Romania has one of the highest growing potential in Europe. This is one of the sectors with more and more investments and Romania is seen in this respect as the next target country for the start of photovoltaic projects. Photovoltaic plants that will be connected to the national power system, will produce as much power as the 2 reactors from the Cernavoda nuclear power plant.
According to the statistics published by Transelectrica, in Romania there are 51 companies that initiate projects for solar panels installation. The investment in this projects rises up to 500 million euro and the total installed capacity will be of 210,3 MW. In 2012 there will be in fully functional stage 14 such photovoltaic systems that convert sunlight into electricity: 4 in Prahova, 2 in Dolj, Olt and Timis, one in Braila, Botosani, Gorj and Dambovita. This installed solar panels will produce together 61 MW.
In order to support the development of renewable energy market in Romania REECO plans to organize the 4th International Conference: Solar Energy in Romania, at the Palace Hall in Bucharest, Romania, on the 22nd November 2012.
The conference will be organized in parallel with the 5th edition of the biggest energy trade fair of Romania, RENEXPO® South-East Europe, where more than 100 exhibitors from 13 countries are already registered, 2 months before the event, 50% from solar energy sector.
