Recycling & Waste World

Food Waste Scotland

Start Date:14 Mar 12

With ambitious targets set, a total ban on sending biodegradable waste to landfill by 2020, and around 2 million tonnes of food waste produced annually in Scotland from households, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, schools and other mass catering outlets, it is critical to re-evaluate the collection, processing and energy recovery of food waste.

Food Waste Scotland 2012 looks at the different technologies available for recycling food waste, whether on-site or off-site. It also addresses the issues involved with the collection and processing of food waste, bringing together key industry speakers, case studies and practical advice enabling delegates to grasp the challenges, opportunities and rewards that this dynamic market offers.

Food Waste Scotland will take place at Burnhouse Manor Hotel, near Beith, Ayrshire. For more information contact Rebecca.
