Delivering the Green Deal: Building Partnerships, Tackling Fuel Poverty

The Green Deal aims to revolutionise the energy efficiency of British properties, businesses and communities. The ambitious 'pay-as-you-save' scheme aims to improve 28 million homes by installing energy efficiency measures and retrofitting new, low-carbon technologies. It is expected to cost in the region of £24bn. This huge spending outlay is made financially viable as improvement work is to be repaid through instalments in consumers energy bills.

At Delivering the Green Deal you will learn how to build effective partnerships with the commercial sector to ensure a strong degree of take-up, to ensure that all households have access to fair funding and that installations meet quality standards. Given the rising costs of energy bills, the 5.5 million UK households defined as living in fuel poverty and the 2,700 deaths attributed each year, local authorities have a pressing need to meet the energy efficiency challenge.
