Brand ‘Moser Baer-PRO’ launched in India…
In April 2003, Moser Baer launched its brand ‘moserbaer-PRO’ in the Indian market. The initial products to be introduced are aimed at both the consumer and professional markets, and consist of CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVD-RWs, Mini-Diskettes, Floppies and Audio Cassettes. The company has signed an agreement with one of the leading distributors of technology products in Asia, with a distribution network of 900 dealers in 32 different cities in India.
Foray into Solar Photovoltaic segment
In October 2005, Moser Baer announced its plans to enter into the fast growing solar photovoltaic segment. To ensure that Moser Baer can play an active role in the technology development in this segment, it has invested in three US-based companies who are working on cutting edge technology. The initial crystalline silicon line of 40MW is being expanded to 80 MW soon. In the PV space, the company also announced setting up the world’s largest Thin Film solar fab, with planned capacity of 600 MW by 2010.
