Autoglass joins ITM Power's HOST
ITM Power (AIM: ITM), the energy storage and clean fuel company, is pleased to announce that Autoglass® has signed an agreement to participate in the hydrogen on-site trials (HOST) of ITM Power's transportable high pressure refueling unit (HFuel). The HFuel unit was built with support from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and launched at the Company's AGM on 15th September 2010.
Autoglass® is part of the world's largest vehicle glass repair and replacement company and is the leading operator in the UK serving 1.5 million motorists each year. Autoglass® have a fleet of 1,600 vehicles operating from 101 branches throughout the UK.
Commenting for ITM Power, CEO Graham Cooley said: "I am delighted to welcome Autoglass to the HOST scheme as another important return to base light commercial fleet operator recognises the value in our clean fuel proposition. The value in decarbonising light commercial fleets will become more of an economic decision as oil prices continue to rise and carbon based taxes and charges are introduced."
For Autoglass®, Ged Raymond, fleet manager, said: "We are excited by the potential of this technology to fuel a fleet of vehicles which operate in a return to base capacity and believe that it could represent a major opportunity to achieve our stated aims within reducing our carbon footprint."
