Samantha Fuller joins the team

Anaerobic digestion and biogas developer InSource Energy has today (January 24 2011) announced the appointment of Samantha Fuller as commercial director.

Samantha joins InSource Energy from SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) who own a 40% shareholding in the company which is a joint venture with Carbon Trust Enterprises.

At SSE Samantha was an analyst to CEO Ian Marchant researching waste to fuel opportunities. After SSE's interest in waste to fuels formalised with the purchase of Slough Heat and Power, she transferred to the newly formed sustainable energy development team (biomass, waste fuels, biogas, etc.), with responsibility for SSE's relationships with waste companies for future fuel creation, and developing joint power stations. Samantha played a key role in the development of Scotland's largest biogas plant at a former landfill site at Barkip, North Ayrshire. This 75,000 tonne per annum project will be in commissioning in April this year.

John Scott, InSource Energy MD said "This is fantastic appointment for InSource Energy. Samantha is at the forefront of the anaerobic digestion and biogas industry and passionate about helping the company roll out its current pipeline of projects".

Samantha said "The anaerobic digestion and biogas industry in the UK is slowly but surely starting to take off. I want to help drive the industry forward and will remain a board member at the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association. I feel that InSource Energy have the potential to lead the way in this growth sector, they are already commissioning their first AD plant in South Wales and have many more projects in development. It's an exciting time for myself and the company".
