Wind Turbine Technology & Design Forum

Start Date:06 Dec 11 End Date:07 Dec 11

Increasing reliability to boost yield and reducing the cost of energy are essential if wind power is to become a truly viable and competitive energy resource, and improving on today's turbine technology is a key aspect of this.

When a wind turbine constitutes approximately 40% of the CAPEX of each project, being ahead of the game and understanding exactly what developments are being made in technology and design are not simply interesting but something that every developer must get be on top of.

Windpower Monthly's Wind Turbine Technology & Design Forum on 6–7 December in Hamburg, Germany will give you the opportunity to understand what developments will improve the performance of turbines, including sessions around the following areas:

• Evolution or revolution? Evaluating design life time and reducing the risk of failure
• Size vs. reliability: are bigger turbines the best way to increase production and reduce the cost of energy?
• The geared vs. gearless drive train debate: delivering lighter wind turbines that reduce the cost of energy & increase reliability
• Exploring new evolutions in blade design to cut through the sales-pitch jargon
• Grid compliance: choosing turbines that are grid-friendly & generate quality, high-value power

This will not be an event full of product pitching, but rather will tackle the biggest challenges in turbine design head-on and really look at how these different kinds of technology are going to directly impact on revenue. For further information send an enquiry.
