GreenMinutes For Greenacres

TBAC (formerly Thames Business Advice Centres) has opened a new eco-friendly office development in Oxfordshire for small and medium sized businesses. As part of it’s environmental ethos, TBAC has signed up to
GreenMinutes, STL’s environmentally sustainable telephony initiative, bringing green telecommunications to a green building.

Greenacres is the first large building in Oxfordshire built entirely with Hemcrete, a mix of hemp waste and lime mortar that produces carbon negative highly thermally efficient walls. The UK produced hemp absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere as it grows, which is then locked within the building, helping to reduce atmospheric CO2 levels. In addition, the walls are highly insulating so the temperature in the offices and workshops changes very slowly reducing the amount of heating required.
