The Schott ETC16 solar collector



The innovative Schott iteral circular reflector collector tube with high-vacuum insulation consists completely of the corrosion-free and easily recyclable substance glass. A high pressure resistance is obtained using very little material.

To convert the heat of the sun into energy for supplying a house with hot water – the idea is just as simple as its implementation demands a high degree of engineering perfection. The ETC collectors product family "powered by Schott" bundles years of experience and the technical know-how of one of the world's leading producers of special glass tubes. The result is one of the most powerful, high-vacuum insulation, frameless solar thermal collectors worldwide.

The high-vacuum insulation of the Schott ICR collector tube, key to the excellent efficiency of the collector tube, is permanently maintained at less than 10-3 mbar with a getter. The absorber and mirror are located in the interior of the glass tube in the vacuum and therefore permanently and completely protected from weather effects. This assures a high energy yield and a consistently high performance for the entire lifespan. At the same time, the Schott ICR collector tubes are very flexible in the ways they can be used in tube collectors.
