London Cleantech Cluster: LED lighting and energy efficiency in the built environment
Start Date:08 Nov 11
On the eve of Lux Live, we are asking the key question is LED lighting the most practical, cost effective, environmentally preferable, energy efficient solution for the built environment available today? With the built environment accounting for about 40% of global carbon emissions and various government initiatives such as the Green Deal and the Green Investment Bank on the horizon, and given the variety of other options such as insulation, smart meters, natural ventilation, retrofit heating systems and renewable energy, we ask what is the "lowest hanging fruit" that should be installed as a matter of course throughout our cities.
