Dutch company urgently seeks local partner to join European funding bid to co-develop innovative carbon capture device

Enterprise Europe Network
A Dutch company has been in touch - they are seeking partners to join a European funding bid to develop proprietary carbon capture technology into a full-scale process for applications in the energy, steel and chemical industries. To give some background: the technology captures CO2 from flue gasses and can be retrofitted to any existing installation at the point where flue gasses are vented. Available techniques use an agent (typically an amine) that temporarily binds the CO2 (absorber) and releases it in a separate process (desorber). The new technology allows the desorber to operate at temperatures below 100°C, where traditional processes typically operate at temperatures of 120°C or higher. The avoided energy consumption allows for much lower capturing costs. The ambition is to reduce capturing cost to 20 Euro/ton in the project. The pilot project requires a flexible and versatile test environment. The idea is to build absorber, desorber and control equipment into a container, that can easily be installed at various sites. The deadline however is 4 April 2013!
