ENER-G's innovative new energy management solution allows organisations of all shapes and sizes to have the benefit of a dedicated energy manager, virtually, 24/7.

Virtual Energy Manager helps lower energy costs and reduce carbon footprints. It improves building energy performance while enhancing occupant comfort. Most importantly it puts organisations in total control of their energy use.

Combining a powerful Internet based portal, automatic meter reading and highly efficient SeaChange building energy management systems, Virtual Energy Manager is a state-of-the-art, single platform for managing every part of an organisation's energy use.

Actual consumption – month by month, day by day and hour by hour
Fiscal performance – instant saving assessments
Carbon footprint – quick and easy calculation of emissions performance
Comfort levels – ensuring occupant comfort
Plant performance – integrated control of all services plant
Alarms – reporting issues as they happen

Virtual Energy Manager is equally at home managing one site as it is several hundred sites, automatically adjusting as your business changes. Sites can be added or removed, as can the meters; in addition, sites can easily be benchmarked against each other.

Knowledge is power and empowering managers is a key feature of Virtual Energy Manager, as customers can choose who has access. Experience has shown that by allowing, for example, branch managers or shift supervisors to know about their energy use, organisations can further help drive out energy waste.

When it comes to managing energy, different people are also interested in different things. Some need to know financial data, others more technical information. Virtual Energy Manager provides all of this from a single, common platform.

Designed for everyday use, Virtual Energy Manager quickly tells you the status of your sites and their performance against target. Within just a few seconds the energy dashboard provides easy to understand information at a glance. Interactive maps help identify and locate sites needing attention and simple icons quickly highlight actual performance.

At every level more detail is available and users can drill down through layers of information to get a fuller picture of a site's performance or a specific issue.

By linking energy consumption and building control systems for the first time users can now see what issues may have affected energy performance and take steps to improve it.

The heart of Virtual Energy Manager is its data – automatically reported by each site, this data contains meter readings from utility meters such as gas, electricity and water plus operating data from the building energy management system (BEMS). Held securely in a database this information is then available for analysis and review.

Where sites are small, or have no BEMS installed, meter data can still be reported and by using e-mail and SMS technology Virtual Energy Manager ensures timely and accurate data is held on every site.

The data held about each site can be easily queried allowing users to compare performance over time, e.g. year on year or to compare buildings to other buildings or areas to other areas.

A powerful reporting tool utilises Excel to enable tailor-made reports to be created from data within Virtual Energy Manager.

ENER-G's existing customers can take advantage of Virtual Energy Manager simply by subscribing to the service. Organisations with existing SeaChange building energy management systems can also benefit from Virtual Energy Manager, although some additional equipment will need to be fitted this will cause no disruption to the operation of your existing system and will be done at the earliest convenience.

In either case, existing additional meters can be monitored or new meters can be fitted.
