Yorkshire’s success a golden inspiration
Yorkshire based EMSc (UK) Ltd, manufacturer of the Star® range of energy saving products, is celebrating Yorkshire’s success in the recent games, winning twelve medals – seven of them gold.
The company, which has been manufacturing the market leading voltage optimisation solution Powerstar at its headquarters in Yorkshire for over a decade, believes that Yorkshire’s success at the Olympics has really put the county on the map, not only nationally, but globally. The striking success is also set to not only pave the way for the region’s future sporting achievements, but also its growing business prowess.
Speaking of the Olympics and how it has inspired the company, Dr Alex Mardapittas, EMSc (UK) Ltd managing director said: “We would like to extend our congratulations to all British athletes at what has been a memorable and exciting games. The achievements of Yorkshire’s athletes, in particular, have highlighted that the region is full of ambition and determination and as a Yorkshire business we hope to emulate that success.”
He added: “In fact, we’d like to believe that if Powerstar was competing in the Voltage Optimisation Olympics, it would win gold for efficiency, gold for energy savings, gold for improving power quality, gold for reducing harmonics and gold for technical design and capability.”

The company is accredited with the Made in Sheffield accolade in acknowledgement of the quality of its manufacturing process, its expansion into international markets, and the overall success of Powerstar, which is exported worldwide to countries including Cyprus, Australia, UAE, South Africa, Greece, Malta, Bahrain and Spain.
