Passivhaus planning package calculations

Passivhaus is a thermal construction standard which is considerably further forward than current UK building regulations. The principles of Passivhaus are as follows:

- Super insulate
- Super air tight
- Heat recovery through ventilation
- Eliminate thermal weak spots

Buildings which address these items to suitable standards will be inherantly low energy consuming. The services Ecotecture provides are specifically focused on maximising the benefits of these improvements to UK construction standards. Ecotecture uses PHPP (passivhaus planning pack) to calculate the efficiency of a proposed design and can provide input into the design process to maximise the benefits of solar gain within a building, whilst eliminating overheating risks.

We use the tool to produce building which have excellent thermal comfort all year round without allowing energy use to creep up through unnecessary processes such as air conditioning.
