Solar PV feed-in tariff
The DECC have issued a notice on the REAL Assurance website (one of our governing bodies) to provide reassurance to both solar photovoltaic installers, such as us here at Ecosource Solutions, and to customers and prospective solar panel customers alike.
You can read their notice on the photovoltaic feed-in-tariff here. There is also a further update providing reassurance that the Feed-in-Tariff rate will not fall below 21p for PV systems of 4kW or below (at worst) before 1 April this year see here.
This information provided by the DECC provides us all in the solar PV industry and potential customers thinking of having solar panels in Devon and Somerset installed, with excellent, positive news. The DECC most certainly want the feed-in-tariff scheme to continue and whatever the outcome of the hearing at the Court of Appeal this coming Friday, 13 January 2012, with the feed-in-tariff scheme in situ you are guaranteed to get an excellent return from having a solar panel system on your land or property.
Here at Ecosource Solutions, we really do feel that, whatever the outcome, whether the 43p feed-in-tariff rate continues for a little while longer or if the 21p FIT is still effective going forward, that now has never been a better time to have solar panels installed on your domestic, commercial or agricultural property or land. On a south facing, optimum roof space here in the heart of the South-West, on the 21p FIT rate solar panels are able to provide our customers with an 8-10% return.
