The Community Energy Coalition is a group of 36 civil society and sustainable energy groups with a collective vision of "communities across the UK owning, generating and saving energy together for the benefit for all." Currently, 99% of the energy generated in the UK is supplied by just six companies - but this doesn't have to be the case. We want to start a revolution with communities at its heart, which will drive a clean, affordable and secure energy system for all.

Membership includes many of the UK's most trusted and influential civic society organisations, including The Co-operative, the National Trust, the Women's Institute and the Church of England. We have a combined reach of millions of people across the UK.

We advocate community energy politically and to the public, working collaboratively to create the conditions for rapid scaling - of policies, financing, public support. Recently we have been a key contributor to the Government's first ever Community Energy Strategy.
