Air source heat pumps



Air source heat pumps take heat from the surrounding air and may offer a cost effective alternative to a ground source heat pump, as no groundworks are required to install them they can be sited on a convenient outside wall of a property.

Chelmer currently offer two sizes of ASHP 10kW and 17kW, both of which can provide both heating and cooling, additional units with out puts from 5kW are to be added to the range. The units have a COP of 3, which means that for each kW of power consumed 3kW of heat are produced.

The Chelmer air source heat pump system's design incorporates a small electric boiler which will cut in automatically on a very cold day to ensure you are not wanting for heat on the coldest of days. As with all heat pump systems, Chelmer recommends solar thermal is also integrated to provide domestic hot water in the summer and underfloor heating in the winter when used in conjunction with an Ecocat thermostore cylinder.
