BSW Timber is the largest sawmilling business in Great Britain and the company's foundations go back to 1848.

BSW sawmills are located throughout the UK, at Fort William, Boat of Garten, Petersmuir, Carlisle, Newbridge-on-Wye and Caerphilly in Wales. Group Headquarters remain in the town of Earlston in Berwickshire, where the business originated. Today the firm employs over 650 people in the UK and Latvia, turnover is in excess of £110 million. Customer service centres at our Carlisle, Newbridge and Kilmallie mills ensure that all our customers receive specialised and dedicated help - consistently.

In addition to the UK mills, BSW Timber has invested in a state-of-the art sawmill in Latvia. With a 20 % share of the sawn wood production from British coniferous forests this signals a new era for the company as it now expands into Continental Europe. BSW is in a unique position, having the resources of six UK mills and its own manufacturing facility in Latvia.

We continue to invest in our manufacturing facilities and technology and in market research, product and market development, bringing new opportunities to our customers using both UK and Latvian fibre. We are continually looking at ways to improve product availability and customer service.
