Waste management under the spotlight

Gulf Environment Forum 2011
Organisers of the Gulf Environment Forum have announced two key sponsors, SAES Enviro and SEPCO, as the issue of waste management comes under the spotlight.

Initiated by the Presidency of Meteorology & Environment, the event returns to the Jeddah Hilton after huge success in 2010, which was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz.

A combined international exhibition and strategic conference, the Gulf Environment Forum brings experts from Waste Management, Renewable Energy, Environmental Technology, Water and Wastewater together to exchange ideas and develop the region for a sustainable future.

SAES (Saudi ASMA Environmental Solutions) specialise in environmental fields planning, engineering, consultancy, equipment supply, monitoring, solutions, and waste management to the public and private sectors.

Dr Fadil Fouad Basyyoni, President of SAES states "We view GEF as a strategic event to our environmental business as we can use this platform to reach out to the Saudi and Gulf market and to connect with existing and new clients."

He continued, "Environmental issues are gaining recognition as priority area of concern to balance the rapid development happening across the region".

With the Middle East producing 200 million tonnes of waste every year, waste management is a key topic for development in the region. The GEF exhibition will feature waste experts including Averda International, Plasmaq, IMEC Technologies and SEPCO.

SEPCO (Saudi Environmental Protection Company) established in 1997, became an expert in biological waste management, providing waste disposal services to healthcare facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The forum opens on May 29 2011.
