World Congress of Bioenergy
Start Date:25 Apr 11 End Date:29 Apr 11
On behalf of the organizing committee, it is a great honor to welcome you to attend the 1st World Congress of Bioenergy (WCBE-2011).
WCBE-2011 aims to bring together industry leaders, professors, policy makers, investors, and researchers and provide a unique insight into evolving governmental policies, breakthrough technologies, major project updates and investment strategies for this multi-billion dollar sector. The event will draw specific attention to the use of renewable sources of energy and to cooperation between China and beyond through exhibitions, matchmaking and expert sessions for specialists as well as seminars.
China is currently in a phase of rapid industrialization and integration into the world economy. The rapidly growing economy and profoundly changing society of China largely depends upon energy availability.
Bioenergy development has become a top government priority in China and the law on renewable energy was implemented in January 2006. Strong policy incentives were established to provide favorable conditions for investments from innovators and small enterprises involved in the social and technological transition towards sustainable development. At the international level, bioenergy has become a dynamic force, with governments, industry, aid agencies and private investors all seeing China as a "land of opportunity" for investment because China has a large stock of biomass resources from agricultural and forest residues, as well as vast areas of wasteland that can be used for bioenergy development, such as small and decentralized electricity and heat generation, household applications and biofuels cultivation. By integrating greenhouse-gas emissions reduction with the sustainable development of rural energy systems, China can set an example for other biomass-rich developing countries as they strive for the combined benefits of social development and environmental protection.
Finally, our thanks to the participants of this conference! It is due to your keen interest that this field is expanding and exploring new frontiers. We hope you enjoy the conference and that your participation contributes to your professional development and relationships.
