Lakeside Energy from Waste Plant, Colnbrook

The impressive Lakeside Energy from Waste facility, near Heathrow Terminal 5, has always been self sufficient in energy. Now it is even more energy efficient, thanks to the installation of solar photovoltaic panels on its famous curved roof.

A joint venture between two of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies – Grundon Waste Management and Viridor – the Lakeside Energy from Waste facility can process 410,000 tonnes of non-recyclable residual waste a year, generating 37 megawatts of sustainable power.

“We were delighted to have it confirmed that even in the UK, a country not well known for its brilliant weather, solar technology performs really well.

“This was not a straightforward job because the curvature of the roof meant that very close attention had to be paid to health and safety. The BELECTRIC team worked very closely with us in this challenging environment and did an excellent job.

Hi I would like to know is that 37MW quoted, per hour? equating to 888MWhs per day?
A Plaswaste project would give you at 1,123tons a day input of solid waste, or non-recyclable waste, would give you an output of 449MWhs for the day. just interested.
