O & M Department, based in Iver Head office — Fixed-term contract, immediate start
Reporting to the O&M Manager, the Operations & Management Assistant will support the O&M team on a day-to-day basis to provide proactive assistance to deal with all procurement, logistics and warranty claims. This is a newly created, fixed-term contract which may lead to a permanent position.
Key responsibilities:
Assist with the supply and negotiation of materials: obtain best prices and product information, manage orders, monitor stock levels and communicate with suppliers regarding lead times
Deal with all incoming requirements of the field-based O&M team
Purchasing of materials within budget and delivery on time
Deal with all warranty related claims, and liaise with suppliers to close all claims efficiently
Arrange all logistics, ensuring correct packaging and suitable delivery methods
Build and maintain good supplier relationships and cohesive internal relationships
Control spare parts stocks kept in the stores (located away from the Iver office), undertaking regular stock takes
Regular reporting to the Project Engineer or O&M Manager on warranty claims and progress of stock
Assist the O&M team as required
You must have previous experience in a similar role within procurement. Exposure to the solar PV / renewables industry, with knowledge of electricals related purchasing, is highly desirable. You will possess strong negotiation and communication skills, be proactive with excellent organisational skills, and able to prioritise and manage a number of tasks simultaneously.
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite packages is essential, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
