Electricians – Kent and Wales regions

The BELECTRIC Group is an international market leader in the development, engineering, financing, construction and O&M (operation and maintenance) of large-scale solar photovoltaic projects. We have installed and connected close to 1.5 GWp of solar projects globally.

Due to the growth of our UK O&M services, we are now seeking qualified, experienced (commercial electrical works) electricians to assist with the delivery of solar O&M contracts. Main responsibilities will include:

Periodic preventive maintenance of inverters, solar modules and combiner boxes
Periodic inspection of non-electrical components on site
Corrective maintenance
HV AP duties (switching, AP documentation preparation)
Periodic maintenance of HV transformers and switchgear
HV basic corrective maintenance
Periodic inspection and testing of electrical circuits
Thermography of solar modules and combiner boxes
Voc, Isc and Riso tests for DC circuits
Earth testing
Basic fault diagnostics and repair of inverters (experience with Power Electronics/Schneider/Power One-ABB would be desirable)
Ensure all electrical work undertaken is safe and that it complies with current regulations
Sign off all electrical work
Ensure that all regulatory health and safety obligations are met
You must hold a clean, valid driving license

You must hold C&G 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent certification and be qualified to the standard of BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. Exposure to electrical works on solar farms or large commercial-scale rooftop PV installations, HV AP experience and/or knowledge of Ethernet and fiber optic communications cabling and CCTV installation cabling is highly desirable.

You must be a confident PC user (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office) as you will be expected to provide daily reports using various apps and software. You will have working knowledge of current and relevant H&S regulations. Affiliation with NICEIC or other bodies is highly desirable.

We offer a competitive salary package. Basic salary is based on skills and experience. There is a bonus scheme, 25 days holidays, a contributory pension plan, health plan and childcare vouchers. A company vehicle, fuel card, laptop and mobile phone are provided.

You are expected to undertake regular weekend on-call shifts which require remote monitoring of sites from home and to undertake site visits for any serious reactive maintenance. We provide generous rates of pay for weekend on-call shifts and site visits, when needed.

There may also be a requirement in exceptional circumstances to travel and to stay away from home, in which case all accommodation and travel expenses will be covered by the company.
