Joanna Saady, qualified in 1995 as an architect specialising in historic building and later completed an MSc in Energy Efficiency in Buildings at Oxford Brookes University. In 1998 Ecotecture was established and grew from a small part-time business based purely on personal recommendations. During this time Joanna also worked at the Oxford Centre for Sustainable Development based at the University administering a European research project into Thermal Comfort. By 2003 the company had grown and Ecotecture was joined by our Financial and Administrative Director, Melanie Laurie, who also offers additional office support and research into planning policy. During 2005 Designer and Director, Jake White, joined Ecotecture and his excellent architectural detailing skills and an innovative approach complement the team. Since Jake has been with Ecotecture he has successfully qualified as an EcoHomes Assessor. In 2005, our growing reputation for high quality design was recognised by Mid Sussex District Council when Ecotecture gained an award for conversion of a Grade II* Water Mill in West Sussex.
