According to WWF and BioRegional’s 'one planet future' campaign, if everyone consumed resources in the same quantities that the UK does, we would need three planets to support us.(http://www.wwf.org.uk/filelibrary/pdf/oneplanetfuture.pdf)Furthermore if we all consumed at the rate the USA consumes, we would need 5 planets.On our current trajectory of global development, energy consumption is set to double by 2050, and by that time we will need at least three planets to sustain ourselves... So that gives us 40 years to find two more planets... one more planet in 20 years? The reality is we only have one planet and need to make the most of what we have and become sustainable. We haven’t got time to waste - so its up to us to all make it happen!
