I have conducted an energy survey in the local village over 2007, www.orletonvillage.co.uk which has three houses with solar water heaters, I formulated a concept that the whole village should be equipped with Solar Water Heaters, and possibly Heat Pumps. And that the financing for this should come from a leasing arrangement, see www.sunrisegf.com,for UK Government support see www.lowcarbonbuildings.org.uk/about/, and http://www.eca.gov.uk/. also refer.I now have an offer of a leasing arrangement from Sunrise Global Finance, and have placed the proposal formally with Orleton Parish Council. If this initiative were taken up, for Solar Water Heaters only, the UK wide potential of 25 million houses would be equivalent of 4-5 1000 MW power stations in terms of energy collection. It should be noted that while China has some 52,000 MW of Solar Water Heating installed, the UK has 140 MW. Heat Pumps might give an energy saving of an order of magnitude larger.
