Residents and businesses in Fylde can now use a new environmentally-friendly website to help cut down on carbon emissions, it has been reported.As part of the Fylde Low Waste and Energy initiative, the website is part of a strategy to make the area the greenest borough in the country, according to the Blackpool Gazette.It includes a carbon counter that can be used to help individuals assess how much carbon dioxide they release and also features a number of tips for people to reduce energy in homes and businesses.In addition, the site has a local pledge counter to track the number of people who are working to reduce their carbon footprint and a number of energy-saving applications for businesses and schools.Development of the website was supported by Defra's Partnership and Innovation Fund, as well as the Northwest Sustainable Development Group.Meanwhile, Fylde Low Waste and Energy plans to travel to a number of venues in the region until April 4th and plans to give a free energy saving lightbulb to everyone who attends one of their energy efficiency events.
