Study reveals 'laidback attitude' to climate change

Study reveals 'laidback attitude' to climate change A new AXA study has suggested that many Brits have a "laidback attitude" when it comes to addressing climate change issues.

Some 18 per cent of British workers have admitted they do not feel global warming will impact them.

In addition, retirees also appear to be relaxed about the potential hazards of climate change, with nine per cent stating they fear the effects of global warming.

However, Truska Angel, AXA's head of climate change, claimed that it is important people take on greater responsibility to make positive environmental changes.

"Even if retirees do not think climate change will affect them in their lifetime, doing a little bit now could make things better for the next generation," she said.

Ms Angel added that there are a number of ways people can ease their carbon footprint and that many of these are simple lifestyle changes.

“Being green doesn’t have to mean taking such drastic action as installing a wind turbine in the garden; it can be as simple as recycling or buying eco-friendly products."

Meanwhile, recent figures from the AA have indicated that a car's green credentials are becoming an increasing point of priority for potential consumers.ADNFCR-1235-ID-18511708-ADNFCR
